Terms of use
Last updated: September 21, 2026
These terms govern the use of the ZedForge site (https://zedforge.app) and of the ZedLoader activation service it offers. By using the site or starting an activation, you accept them. Use of the software itself (ZedLoader and upcoming projects) is governed by its End User License Agreement (EULA), separate from these terms and shown at installation.
1. The service
ZedForge presents the tools developed by SkyDroxy for Project Zomboid and provides the ZedLoader activation service: after signing in through Discord, the site issues a single-use activation code which ZedLoader, on your machine, exchanges for an activation of your installation.
The service is free for everyone. No feature is reserved for contributors or donors.
2. Access conditions
- You must have a Discord account, and therefore be at least 13 years old under Discord's terms.
- You must own a legitimate copy of Project Zomboid (Steam, GOG or another official channel) to use ZedLoader.
- The number of activation codes issued per Discord account is limited over a rolling period, to prevent abuse. A reached limit lifts by itself over time.
3. Prohibited uses
It is prohibited to:
- automate activation requests, or bypass or attempt to bypass the rate limit or the Discord verification;
- share, sell or publish activation codes;
- probe, disrupt or overload the site, the API or the download servers;
- use the service to harm other players, game servers or The Indie Stone, or for any unlawful purpose.
4. Discord account
The Discord sign-in is used solely to verify that a real account is behind the request. We only request the "identify" scope (ID and username); we access neither your servers, nor your messages, nor your email address, and we post nothing on your behalf. You can revoke this authorisation at any time from your Discord account settings; this does not affect an activation already issued.
5. Availability and changes
The service is provided as is, as a beta, with no commitment to availability or continuity. It may be modified, interrupted or discontinued at any time, in particular when a Project Zomboid update temporarily breaks ZedLoader. An issued activation may be revoked in case of breach of these terms or of the EULA.
6. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damages related to the use or unavailability of the service or the software: loss of saves or game data, server downtime, sanctions by a third-party platform or server. This limitation does not apply in case of fraud or gross negligence, nor where the law prohibits limiting liability. Third-party plugins run by ZedLoader are the sole responsibility of their authors.
7. Intellectual property
The ZedForge site and software are the property of SkyDroxy (see the legal notice). Project Zomboid belongs to The Indie Stone Limited; ZedForge is an independent community project, not affiliated with The Indie Stone, which complies with the game publisher's modding policy. Plugins developed by third parties against ZedLoader's public API remain their authors' property.
8. Personal data
The data processed as part of the service is described in the privacy policy.
9. Changes
These terms may be updated; the date at the top of the page shows the version in force. Continued use of the service after publication constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer residing in another European Union country, you keep the benefit of the mandatory provisions of your country's law. In case of dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first by writing to contact@zedforge.app; failing that, the competent courts will be seized. In case of discrepancy between the French and English versions, the French version prevails.
